Show Time!

Well, the day we’ve been working hard to get ready is here, finally, it’s our performing day. OH~~

Cool thing is, I actually can sleep the night before the big day. But, when we were going for make-up, i noticed that not sleeping is a good thing. As our make-up was to blacken our “panda eyes”, by not sleeping actually gave us the “natural look”. Let’s go back a few hours first..

I know today is the big day, but our last two scenes were not done yet, and our director was outstation and only can come back by 3pm. Yeah, shocking!! But we don’t blame him. We rehearse from 9am to 6pm, and then changed into our costumes (which were only white t-shirt and white pants) and went to do our make-up. And as I said just now, blah blah blah blah blah…

Okay, show time! The first crowd and tough. It seemed like nothing could please them. They were, how do you say it, “chilly” or “cool” or “cold”. It was pretty AWKWARD, especially when emily and jeremy asked the audience after the show, whoever that wanted to give comments can come up to the stage. Both of them were standing on the stage, alone, and all you can hear is the cricket sound. That was the most awkward moment. So then, the lighting person asked us all to go up the stage to share the awkward moment with them. And we started singing the song “for good”.

The second show was the best! The audience was mostly the cast members’ parents so they gave lots of support. There was laughter and applause throughout the show. Some of the audience even repeated what we said. And because of their laughter, it made us wanted to laugh too. But we had such a suffering time to hold our laughter. After the second show, we were standing on stage going “Saxon saxon rock you!” and “当我说 saxon 你说 yo! SAXON! YO! SAXON! YO!” and what we DIDN’T know is that there was a projector outside and it was showing our movements to the public outside. Another awkward moment. Emily, Jeremy, May Shuen, Vannessa, Teacher Lily and I overnighted in Saxon, where all of us took turns to bathe and it took us 5 hours to completely wash off the make up, sweat and dirt from our body. HUH!

Next day, the third show, we all rehearsed for a while and rested longer than we rehearse. During rest time, almost everyone was in teacher Lily’s room talking about ghost stories and jokes. When our drama teacher joins us, he told us a super scary story about his childhood. It frighten everyone especially the small kids. They didn’t even dare to go in the toilet and change by themselves. Okay, showtime again. This time, it was a disaster!! Let me tell you, details by details..

Our musical started out with a prelude. Then comes the real musical. There was a bunch of people walking hopelessly and tired, then suddenly the leader (me, haha) made a loud step, then everyone stopped. Again with the loud footstep, everyone fell down and rush to the back. Suddenly, there were some ryhthmic steps. After the last step was suppose to be a quite moment, like the last two shows. But in this show, after the last step there was a “phuttttt” sound. Could you believe that somebody FARTED?!? Actually it wasn’t THAT funny, but then someone made a “yer~” sound, that made all the cast on stage laughed. It was horrible as I was the first soloist and the last step was my cue. When I sang, my voice sounded like there was a frog in my throat jumping out. Oh My Gosh. Another awkward moment. When we got to backstage, we were scolded badly by our teacher. Ugh.. But, after that the show went on quite well.

Whew, the three shows are finally over. We were all shouting and hugging and taking photos and shouting again as we don’t have to protect our voices. Woo Hoo!! These are the photos that we took that day..

Getting ready for one of the most important events in my life

Since May this year, I have been very very busy for rehearsals, and getting ready to face hundreds of people staring at me..

This 18th and 19th of October, I'm involving in a musical drama. Yes.

To be frank, I'm really happy and proud to be in this musical drama. It's everything i dream for, being around my best friends, best teachers, and doing something I love. It's always challenging when teacher gives you a paper and asks you to memorize the lines, or songs that we've learned suddenly changed lyrics, from English to Mandarin. We've had many activities for this preparation, like a musical camp, where we did nothing but eat, drink, sleep, play and rehearse.

But now, I'm very worried. The musical isn't finish and we open in about two weeks. And we only practise 5 hours a week. DO YOU THINK 10 HOURS ARE ENOUGH TO GET THE SHOW PERFECT?! I'm really scared now. Our teacher says he has faith in us, and he believes that we can be 100% ready. Well, I think he has TOO MUCH faith in us. I really hope I'd do well in this musical.

And there's another thing. I'm so proud of this musical, I wished that some of my friends and family could show up to watch me. They always say that I join this for nothing, waste of time. But I love these classes. This is time I can stop pretending to be the person I am in school. This is the time that finally, I'm freed from prison. That is the main reason i go to Saxon that often...

A trip to the BP house

Today is 14th of august 2008, is the 100th year anniversary of the Malaysia Scouts. 19 scouts from our school including me went to the BP house. Actually, I didn't know why are we going there. I thought we were just visiting.

All of us reached school before 9 a.m. We waited and waited and then it was recess time for the morning sessions. And then continue to wait. Almost one hour later, the teacher finally came. We then walk to the Bukit Jalil LRT station and bought tickets to Hang Tuah. This was my first time riding LRT with my school friends. The LRT door was stupid. I don't know whether it was automatic or what, but before I went in, it started to close, and we didn't even take a long time to get in. So in the end, I kena squashed, but at least I went in la..

When we reached our destination, our teacher started leading us to the BP house. After a long, hot walk, the teacher said we were there. It was a BP petrol station. ZADAO!! Everyone went in and bought something cold to drink but some of use already bought drinks from the vending machine outside the LRT station. Then, the teacher wanted us to walk back towards the LRT station. He said we came here just to buy water. Another ZADAO!!

The walk was worst than we imagined. It was hot, very very the hot..Finally, we've reached sanctuary. I didnt know it was so "hot" and "happening" there...A live band, wearing scouts uniform were on stage singing..Whew..
But...it was so hot, the shaded area was packed, so we walked to a small store beside the place to eat, drink..Almost 2pm, we walked back there. We just hung around, admire the log books other scout made, then walked back home...

And that day was the first time i ride LRT with school friends, took the rapid KL, and walk to LRT station from school..It was fun..Especially the no school part..haha...

OMG...Is that me?

A few days ago, i just discovered some videos. When I watched it, I couldn't believe that was me. Compared to me now, my voice in the video is so high-pitched. I sounded funny and I was so hyper..omg..

A-hem..No comments about how I dress, okay? Time passes real fast. I could still feel the waves and the beautiful white sand there. It was in 2004, but now I'm not sure that the beach is still this white after the tsunami. That year was considered the worse year in my six years of primary school. I still remember there was puppies there. Cute, innocent, little puppies. As I remembered, most of the adults were seasick on the way to this phi phi island.
